Author and dialogist ­ Telemundo

The author of Dame chocolate (2007) served as VP of the Telenovela Development Division at Telemundo from 2003 to 2005. During her tenure, she carried out productions like Pasión de Gavilanes (2003), Anita no te rajes (2004), La mujer en el espejo (2004-05), El cuerpo del deseo (2005-06) and Amores de mercado (2006), among others. As dialogist for well-known productions, Farías has worked for TV stations like Radio Caracas Televisión (RCTV), VC Televisión, Marte Televisión, Venevisión and Telemundo.

A long professional career in television and a degree in Media Studies from Northwestern University are achievements of this Venezuelan dialogist and writer of many important productions such as Mis tres hermanas and Juana, la virgin, among others. The Venezuelan writer was the author of the TV movies Volver a empezar, Una rosa por testigo and Juan y el rey de las latas – produced by  Dramavisión Producciones for RCTV.
In the Summer of 1978, Perla Farías started

 
 

working as Production Assistance for the II International Theater Festival in Caracas, Venezuela. She also served as Production Assistance for the renowned advertising agency Leo Burnett, but it was in 1984 when she realized about her true call by writing her thesis on Production and Direction of Television

Farías telenovelas have traveled all over the world and have received many awards, such as Meridiano
de Oro
, Guaicaipuro de Oro, El Aguila, Dos de Oro, the Ace Award for Best Telenovela of the Year and the Pantalla de Oro Award for Best Telenovela. She is currently writing exclusively for Telemundo and she is working in a new telenovela on which she cannot disclose any details. The speech she is giving on the
first day of the event is focused on writers and directors and is called Writing telenovelas for the U.S. Hispanic market.
